There are many interesting attractions to visit whilst on your holiday in Mauritius.

The Pamplemousses Garden features an extensive collection of indigenous plants with some unique species all over the world. Around the area, there is also a very well documented Museum on the history of Sugar called "L'Aventure du Sucre" -The Sugar Adventure.

The Domaine des Pailles is a popular attraction where history still blends with the present and is located a few minutes drive from Port-Louis.There is an extensive parkland where you can also enjoy a horse riding trip or 4x4 ride on the mountains. Its well restored colonial buildings house some fine-dining chinese and Indian restaurants as well as a casino.

The Casela Nature Park located on your way to Flic en Flac houses a wide variety of animals including some unique species in the world such as the Pink Pigeon and "Cateau Vert". Further up on the mountains of Chamarel, there is this interesting attraction called the Seven-Colours Earth as shown on the picture below.
